Items for the agenda

January 23, 2010

I thought this was worth sharing. In February, we hope to have a congregational meeting. I sent out an email asking people if they have anything of importance for the agenda. So far I've received one response, and here's what's weighing heavy on someone's mind:

Allowable hair length for the pastor.
Segregated seating for men and women.
Reduction of church's carbon footprint.
Church mascot.
Preferred parking for parents of children aged 2 to 4.
Abandon north American handshake and restore biblical holy kiss.

The respondent will remain nameless, for his/her own protection.

Only one person I know will be enough bold to make such suggestions. It is probably, most likely Mr. Bergen lol But I have to admit, they are excellent topics. I fervently look forward for this meeting :)

Jim, is Nallely trying to get you to get a haircut? I can see the holy kiss thing from her perspective, but others might have a problem with it! How about a pipleline from your next-door neighbour to the pulpit? Work out a payment plan so no Sunday business has to be done?

Stu, the pipeline idea is an excellent one, and it has been considered. A certain Tim Horton's manager familiar to us all will be consulted, and the appropriate steps taken to make this important development a reality.

As for the comment of "Anonymous", I have no comment in response. In this case, perhaps my silence speaks volumes.

Haircut or length in this case should be the standard of the Puritans, Your beard the length of Calvin. You decide which Calvin I am speaking of. :-)

I volunteer for mascot. As for the carbon footprint, the leading cause is the coal the writer received in his/her stocking last month.

Thanks, FtAT, for volunteering for that extremely important position. However, perhaps the coal in the stocking came as a result of your making offers like this. Hmmm...

Yes, I did consider my own contribution to said coal, but since I am not actually a member of said congregation, I though my effect on the carbon footprint to be minimal.
