"The Kelowna local television station that drew national coverage this week after agreeing to air a pro-life ad has changed its mind, claiming that the ad is too graphic, reports Kelowna.com.
The ad was sponsored by Kelowna Right to Life (KRL), who got the news of its cancellation yesterday. 'The overarching reason is because the image is inappropriate for TV and is too graphic in nature,' Marlon Bartram, KRL's executive director, told Kelowna.com."

Hey! I'm a priest for life! I don't remember sponsoring this ad. But I like it. Too graphic in nature and inappropriate for TV? Most of what's on TV fits into that category. I wonder what the TV station in Kelowna does about the 6:00 Newss.

I have seen more disturbing images in previews for gory movies. Sad that people wouldn't think twice about watching Chainsaw Massacre, but are against seeing an ad against a real, vile deed happening everywhere. Abortion is graphic. But people don't want to think about it that way. They don't want to think about it at all if they can help it.

Certainly is offensive as it should be. Ah but we don't like seeing hard truths like this because it might convict. John Piper recently on January 24th preached a sermon on abortion here a small sample of it. ......There are about 3,000 abortions a day in the United States and about 130,000 a day worldwide. Which means that the horrific, gut-wrenching reality of Haiti’s earthquake on January 12 happens everyday in the abortion clinics of the world. And it is likely that if the dismemberment and bloodshed and helplessness of 130,000 dead babies a day received as much media coverage as the earthquake victims have—rightly have!—there would be the same outcry and outpouring of effort to end the slaughter and relieve the suffering.........

Tragic and powerful. How will our nation escape the judgment of God?

BTW, I find it so hypocritical of these people. "There is nothing wrong with abortion, it is just a blob of tissue, it is not really a life - but don't you dare make me look at it or hear about it". I think they know they are hypocrites, which is why they use the "these images will traumatize children" excuse. I say, children should see these images. They are going to grow up and inherit a world where people routinely and legally murder innocent children. It is better to make an impression on them now while they are still tender and before they have been hardened by sin.
