Back in Touch
July 25, 2006
After four days with no Internet access, we're back online here at MERF. The Internet service provider here in Lokichoggio doesn't seem to be the keenest on customer service, but when the service guy finally arrived this afternoon, he took two assistants. So for a few moments there were five of us peering over a little box with a flashing green light and a bunch of cords running from it. And really, I'm not sure if any of us knew what exactly we were looking at.
Be that as it may, somehow, in some way, everything's up and running, thankfully. I will be adding some pictures to the gallery as soon as I finish mixing up a couple of scoops of Nescafe Classic ("Kick Start Your Day!" as the package says - perhaps 8:45 PM is a little late to kickstart one's day, but better late than never), powdered milk, and raw brown sugar and savouring the delicious, steaming contents of the plastic cup which is right here next to my computer.

Welcome back! Is there a Tim Horton's there? Since we know how you love your coffee! Hope you don't mind but you and your twin are circulating around the Burlington Post Warehouse! Everyone says hi! How hot is it down there? It is 30 degrees out here!

Yes, the Tim Horton's here is the kettle on the stove and a can of instant coffee. There is no drive-thru :-) Generally it is in the mid 30s every day, although it did rain again a couple of days ago, which cooled things off for the evening. But now it's back to normal again! Hi to everyone at the warehouse! Keep cool! :-)
